Our first Van experience
Our first van experience: an unforgettable trip to Mexico
Valérie and I have explored the roads of North America in a variety of recreational Vehicles vehicles. From camping in trailers to traveling in a Travel Trailer , we've tested just about everything... except the vanlife.
Despite our curiosity about this way of life, we still had our reservations: Motorhomes seemed too small, too cramped, not really suited to our daily lives as nomadic workers. But this year, we decided to take the plunge, and we haven't regretted it for a second.
The adventure begins
Our adventure began in 2023 with a SafariCondo XL Plus, a vehicle designed by a Quebec-based Company with over 25 years' experience in RV manufacturing. As soon as we hit the road, we were impressed by the quality of the design and the comfort of this vehicle.
After spending the last few years working on the design of our latest camper, we could quickly see the manufacturer's years of experience in every little detail of our new vehicle. Lightweight cabinets, simple and efficient handling, well thought-out storage space - nothing was left to chance.
With its generous windows, we were able to admire the breathtaking scenery of Mexico, while enjoying a surprisingly spacious living area, considering the size of the vehicle.
Comfort and driving pleasure
The real test came when we set out on the winding roads of Mexico. The impressive turning radius allowed us to navigate the narrow roads of small villages with ease. With the high price of fuel in Mexico, we were lucky to have a vehicle that consumed almost half the fuel of our old Vehicles.
The transition from bench to bed is made quickly at the touch of a button, and once you've closed the blinds, you'll soon feel right at home! The modular aspect of the layout really appealed to us. It allowed us to take advantage of the larger living space and large countertops for cooking, while still having access to a toilet and shower on the road.
Daily life at Motorhome takes some getting used to, but we soon found our rhythm. In the morning, we liked to open all the windows to let in the fresh breeze and enjoy the sunrise over the Mexican landscape.
Memorable moments
One of the most memorable moments of our trip was our stay in Tamasopo. We parked our Motorhome on the riverbank and every morning I could jump in and take my little dip in a dreamy turquoise river. Our decamping site was sublime and we would never have been able to reach it with our old Vehicles which were much too big.
Conclusion
This first experience in a Motorhome from Safari Condo was a revelation for us. It's by far the easiest RV to maneuver that we've had the opportunity to test. Even though it has all the conveniences of a large RV, you can drive it like a small car. Çase can be parked anywhere, and as soon as you stop, you're ready to enjoy the place! No complicated set-up or wasted time. The next day, you take your place behind the wheel and off you go!
For us, this trip to Mexico is just the beginning of a new adventure. We can't wait to find out where the road takes us next, and we hope you'll join us on this journey through our videos and articles.
See you on the road!
