A big arrival at Safari Condo!
Safari Condo's designers left trailers A2124 and F1743 all alone in the backyard... The result? A brand-new trailer named A1752, the result of an attractive cross between these two models!
This new Alto has been designed in particular to meet the needs of small cars or electric cars which don't have the same towing capacity. This Alto offers a better drag coefficient Aerodynamic than the A2124, and at 2,224 lbs unladen (1,010 kg) is also lighter. This means better fuel or electricity consumption by the towing vehicle. What more could you ask for?
In addition to its lightness, theAlto A1752 is very well equipped, with an enclosed toilet/shower cubicle, a 3.5-cubic-foot electric fridge (12 volts) and two standard lithium batteries. Designed for couples, it features an extra-large bed that can be removed at the rear to accommodate the dinette. Want more? The A1752 offers 130 cubic feet of storage, 50% more than the F1743 and almost as much as the A2124!
And, surprisingly for those who know the Alto , the kitchen is placed at the front of the trailer! And, to maximize the use of this kitchen, Safari Condo is currently testing the use of an induction stove built into the prototype of the trailer.
How was this beautifult Alto born? It took a little over a year of work to design the new baby of the family. First, six designs were tested in a virtual wind tunnel to measure the aerodynamics of each of these models. Although they were all promising, Safari Condo chose the second best design because it allowed for a much better interior layout. After the wind tunnel tests, it took nearly 6 months of 3D design to arrive at the final result, both for the exterior appearance and the interior layout of the trailer. Know that this is the first trailer entirely designed in 3D! Production was therefore launched from the 3D drawing. it required a pretty high level of confidence! ...
As soon as the prototype went into production, the team watched it being assembled and made minor corrections to the plans: a few centimetres less on a shelf here, a few centimetres more on a part there. It was clear that the R&D and production teams had done their job! The 3D drawings were subsequently used to complete the plumbing, electrical and interior fittings.
Road tests were then carried out to establish comparisons in fuel consumption between this new model and other Alto models.
This new trailer will be offered with a few options, even if the base model is already very well equipped: the installation of an air conditioner, solar panels, a rigid awning, two additional lithium batteries or an inverter are among the possible additions to this new product.
This surprising trailer will be presented for the first time at the electric vehicle show in Quebec City, from October 25 to 27, 2024. You will also be able to see it at the Quebec City RV Show the following weekend, from October 31 to November 3, 2024, where you will also be able to see the entire range of Alto and Safari Condo products!
